Look before the shutter
Thirty years of carrying a camera taught me the slowest part first.
The camera has been with me a long time, and the first thing it taught was not technical. It was to look before pressing anything — to see where the light actually is, and to recognise the moment rather than hope to catch it.
Every image is part of a story that started before you arrived. The shutter is the last decision, not the first.
