Teaching the ones who will teach

A learner carries what you taught them. An instructor carries it to everyone after.

Teaching a newcomer and teaching a future instructor are not the same work. With a learner you are shaping one rider. With an instructor you are shaping every rider they will stand beside for years afterwards.

So the second one has to be taught differently. Not more technique — more of the reasoning underneath it, because that is the part they will have to rebuild in their own words.
