Poetry

By Sina Oshaghi

Where nothing has to be explained

Poetry is the one room where I am not the teacher.

Most of what I do is explanation. A technique, a route, a way of holding a camera. Poetry is the place where that stops. Nothing has to be demonstrated and nobody has to leave understanding it.

I only have to feel it and write it down. That is a harder discipline than it sounds, because the habit of explaining follows you into the line and has to be shown out.
